Galina Kurlat's new exhibit, Shadow Play, opens November 1st at the Peter Hay Halpert Fine Art gallery space in Chelsea. Galina's tintype portraits of youths explore the identity of who the sitter is and will become. The exhibit will run from November 1st to December 1st. Don't miss it! If you're interested in learning the wet collodion process, Galina is also teaching a two-day Wetplate Photography Workshop at the Gowanus Darkroom on December 8th and 9th. Workshop participants will learn the process of pouring collodion, exposing, developing, fixing and varnishing the plates. They'll also learn how to use large format cameras and get a chance to take home their own 4x5 and 5x7 inch plates.
