SOCAPA's Music Bootcamp is now online! While the rehearsal studio looks different... the instruction is the same. From songwriting roundtables, to listening to the greats, collaborative online song composing, peer-led critiques, and final showcase celebrations, SOCAPA's Music Bootcamp Online continues to emphasize the importance of building relationships with other young artists and facilitating creative collaboration.
SOCAPA's Music Boot Camp challenges Singer-Songwriters to write, arrange and perform multiple songs during their two weeks. In conjunction with Main Block classes in music history, theory, business, and recording, students receive private and group instruction in a variety of topics such as: song conception, arrangement, lyric composition, stage presence, and more. Students should expect to use one of the two Creative Blocks as a time to collaborate remotely with other artists, work on their songs, record a performance video to share with the group, or receive one-on-one instruction from the instructor.
All students are encouraged to have a condenser microphone, headphones (or ear buds), and a way to connect their instrument to their computer. For students who don't already have those tools, here are some introductory options that we would recommend.
