$75 Team Fee ($25 per Student or Less)
After initial registration, there is a $75 Team Registration Fee to be paid at your earliest convinience in order to secure a spot at the Slam. Teams that fail to pay the registration fee before the end of open registration period will be disqualified from the event.
Teams must have at least three members and no more than five. Additionally, each team must have one Team Leader who is at least 21 years of age. The Team Leader is not counted in the total team size of three to five participants. This team member must sign a liability release form assuming all responsibility for team members under the age of 21.
All team members under the age of 18 must have their parents sign a liability release form.
Teams may utilize any additional volunteer help for cast and crew needs.
Teams are encouraged to bring all their own equipment, but a basic film and photography package may be reserved, free of charge, by calling our offices at 1-800-718-2787. All reservations must be completed the Wednesday prior to the event.
Teams that choose to reserve equipment will be responsible for the complete replacement value of any lost or damaged gear.
Each team will receive several guidelines for their project from a goody bag provided at the opening ceremony, including the Slam Theme and any required props, locations, genres, or assigned situations. Teams may not trade their assignments with others. Use these items creatively to score more points for your project.
Final projects must be between 1 to 3 minutes in length.
All work must be created and submitted during the event. Projects submitted after the deadline will not be screened.
All projects must be PG-13 or less. Basically: don’t produce anything you wouldn’t want your grandmother or younger siblings to see. Prohibited content includes (but may not be limited to) drug use, sex, graphic violence, and defamatory statements. Additionally, no copyrighted materials should appear within the work. If any of these rules are broken, the project may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the judges.
Any assigned criteria must be used in the project.
Film File Format
For filmmakers, final video submissions should be H.264 .mov file.
