Spanish Immersion and the Arts

Improve your Spanish language skills while studying the arts!

Have plans to study abroad? Interested in taking your Spanish from the classroom to the real world? During Session Four in New York City, SOCAPA offers several of its performing arts intensives with a Spanish immersion option. These intensives follow the same curriculum as their English language counterparts, but move at a pace moderated to the students’ language comprehension levels. All classes are taught in Spanish, and our instructors encourage and assist students to speak only Spanish during class. All projects are performed, written, and critiqued in Spanish.

Students living on campus are paired as often as possible with roommates enrolled in the Spanish immersion program or with native Spanish speaking students enrolled in other SOCAPA arts intensives. Students participate in Spanish-related evening and weekend activities, and speaking Spanish outside of class is highly encouraged by our staff.
