Emil Benjamin

Emil Benjamin is a New York City-based filmmaker. His feature documentary OYATE premiered in competition at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, winning multiple awards and now streaming on major platforms. His short films WHITE LIES, WE CAN DO IT, and THE BREAKDOWN PARABLES have screened and earned prizes at dozens of festivals worldwide, including a premiere at Fantastic Fest. He attended the Cine Qua Non Lab with his feature screenplay IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH and won the Austin Film Festival Pitch Competition with his pilot, HOPELESS. He serves as Adjunct Faculty in Columbia University’s Film MFA Program and continues to work as a writer, director, producer, and editor through Irrelevant Media, his international production company, whose projects have been recognized at major festivals including Cannes, Venice, Sundance, Berlin, Toronto, and Rotterdam
