SOCAPA, the School of Creative and Performing Arts, is one of the premier visual and performing arts summer camps for teens, ages 14 to 18, in the world. Nowhere else will you find this level of creative intensity combined with this much fun. Whether you are acting in a film along Lake Champlain, dancing in a hip-hop video under the Brooklyn Bridge, or conducting a fashion shoot on Venice Beach, you're sure to have the summer of a lifetime.
SOCAPA mixes the best of elite film programs and exciting summer camps. Nowhere else will you find this level of filmmaking intensity combined with this much fun. Filmmakers and writers of all levels can also hone their skills in one of our Screenwriting intensives.
With an emphasis on technique development and choreography, SOCAPA's summer dance camps encourage young dancers to explore dance in a way they may never have before and to grow their technique, their confidence and their love of dance through rigorous training, insightful movement workshops and a non-competitive dance experience. . . like no other!
Focuses on developing songwriting and musical performance skills. Vocalists and musicians all create their own original songs during the program, and are introduced to the professional workflow of music production — from song conception and developing their artistic sound, to music videos and preofessional recording sessions!
SOCAPA offers one, two and three-week summer programs in digital and/or traditional darkroom photography with a strong emphasis on aesthetics and portfolio development.
SOCAPA Acting is hands-on and fast-paced. Each week of camp is a balance between in-class exercises, acting in student films and summer fun. In-class, students work with master actors to learn to "live truthfully" in the moment under imaginary circumstances.
An educational adventure camp geared towards avid mountain bikers, ages 11-13 and 14-17, who also have a passion for action filmmaking. Located trailside to both the Burke Mountain Bike Park and the world-renowned Kingdom Trails, offering well-over 100 miles of x-country, single-track, gravity, and downhill MTB terrain.
