Melissa Kaitlyn Carter

Musician • Performer • Educator

MFA Music & Sound, Brooklyn College

Melissa Kaitlyn Carter is a Brooklyn-based musician, performer, and educator. She is the frontwoman of the indie-folk project Hattie, described as “achingly honest and full of heart.”

As a performer, Melissa has worked across the United States and cut her teeth on The Bengsons inaugural performance of Hundred Days. She has been an artist-in-residence at The Sable Project and Paul Dresher Ensemble Artist Residency, and was a Music/Sound Artist Fellow for the New York Foundation for the Arts.

Melissa is the founder of Making Audio Magic, where she works as a composer and vocalist for hire and teaches songwriting, music production, and DIY-At-Home Recording.
