A major role in a long-awaited sequel
Released on Netflix on July 25, 2025, Happy Gilmore 2 brings Adam Sandler back to one of his most iconic roles nearly three decades after the original film premiered. In the sequel, Sunny’s character, Vienna, becomes a central part of the story as Happy returns to golf with a new purpose tied to his daughter’s dreams.
Building momentum on screen
Sunny Sandler has steadily built a growing list of film credits. She also starred in Netflix’s 2023 feature You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, continuing to show her range and on-camera confidence while taking on increasingly prominent roles.
Where it started
Sunny trained in SOCAPA’s 3-Week Advanced Acting program in New York City in summer 2023, alongside classmates Scarlett Estevez and Samantha Lorraine. Since then, Sunny and Scarlett have starred together in Netflix’s Don’t Say Good Luck, and Samantha leads Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado. Sunny and Samantha also played best friends in Netflix’s You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.
A proud SOCAPA alumni spotlight
Sunny’s casting in a high-profile Netflix release is the kind of milestone SOCAPA is proud to celebrate—an alum stepping into a principal role, helping carry a major studio-scale comedy, and representing the next generation of young talent making real strides in film and television.
Congratulations to Sunny and her family on the release of Happy Gilmore 2—and to every SOCAPA student inspired by what’s possible.
